The Intelligence and Security Committee approved publication of the report on Russian interference in UK Elections before the election but for some odd reason Boris Johnson took the decision to delay the publication of the report until after the general election. The report was then cleared days after the election result but now we’re learning it’s not likely to be published until Spring, which will be well after the Brexit date, why?
Johnson claims there’s nothing of any note in the report as he’s already seen it, which begs the questions, what ‘is’ the reason for the delay and could we expect the government to keep kicking the publication date further and further down the line?
Perhaps they’ll delay publication until after the UK has already left the EU. After all, if there is proof of Russian (or US) interference in the EU referendum then would this not nullify the referendum result and what happens if the Tories find themselves in a position where they can’t actually deliver their only real election pledge – to ‘get Brexit done’?
