Last week, Robert F. Kennedy Jr., who is running as an independent candidate in the 2024 presidential election, gave an interview on the Rubin Report which revealed a great deal about the mindset and interests of the US administration. From this interview its easy to see that both Rubin and Kennedy are staunch Zionists, but there’s more to this picture than commitment to a Zionist ideology.
Kennedy openly expresses pro-Israel sentiment. He views Israel as Gaza’s “benefactors” and views Gazans are ungrateful recipients of their benevolent neighbour’s charity. He denies that Israel as an occupier or an apartheid state, he doesn’t offer any historical context and certainly doesn’t mention the Nakba. He also doesn’t recognise Gaza as an open air prison. He does, however, express disappointment over the fact that Netanyahu gave Hamas $1.5million. Kennedy thinks this was very unfortunate because “it injured the moral case for Israel and it makes it more trickier to have this pure case, which I think we had, prior to that.” At one point, he even goes off on a monologue about how the Arabs want to kill all Jews and that the Arabs see it as their Islamic duty to kill Jews, which is absolute rubbish. He literally argues that Palestinians have genocidal intent against all non-Muslims – in effect he’s pushing a narrative and projecting onto Arabs and Palestinians, who have endured decades of a slow creeping genocide, punctuated, every few years by a violent massacre, exactly what successive Israeli and western governments have been doing to Arabs and Palestinians for years. He even pushes the Zionist false narrative that most Palestinians were economic migrants who only arrived in Palestine during the 20th century.
Putting the Zionist propaganda aside for one second, there are a number of interesting takeaways from this interview that speak to the actual mind-set and interests of the US administration…
- A fear of a regional escalation in the fighting that the Israelis are ill equipped to handle and which could drag in the super powers…“We’re on the brink of a nuclear war… Lebanon could come in, Syria could come in, Egypt already has 350,000 troops staged to come in.. Turkey CC is saying that he’s gonna come in, and if that happens then Russia will almost certainly come in and we could easily sleep walk into World War III… we’re not… the Israeli army is not equipped for a very very big war, like it was 10yrs ago… they haven’t been doing real fighting and those Arab countries are now very very well armed… you know, the United States, the people who are running our government now… I don’t think any of them have a healthy fear of Nuclear war and we also have a diminished armoury and you know we’re fighting a two front war and it’s going to be tempting to go to the punch line… the end game…” What he’s really telling us here is that the US would countenance the use of Nuclear weapons against Arab countries (none of whom possess nuclear weapons). This could also be interpreted as an open threat to any Arab nation currently considering entering the fray, and it’s worth noting that the US already deployed a nuclear submarine to the Middle East on 5th Nov..
- A fear of Russia and China entering the fray. Kennedy admits that Russia outguns the US in both the sheer volume as well as the effectiveness of their nuclear arsenal, so he would prefer the US reached out to Xi and Putin to discuss how to avoid an escalation.
- Kennedy is also concerned that this might give the Chinese an excuse to invade Taiwan, and that, he tells us, would be a big blow to the US because Taiwan makes all the microprocessors for “every smart US weapon… every missile has them… all of our weaponry needs these TSMC microchips that are only made in Taiwan… if China gets a hold of that resource, they will out-weapon us.”
- Kennedy then tells us that if he is elected President he would use some of their military budget to ensure access to global oil resources.. “making sure we have the resources that are critical to us, including the oil resource that are critical to the world, that we have a ‘strike capacity’ to make sure to be able to protect those… and Israel is critical.. because it’s almost like having an aircraft carrier in the Middle East.” This is a clear admission that the US have their sights on Middle East oil reserves but then he also tells us that Iran controls all of Venezuela’s oil and that Hezbollah is in Venezuela and expresses concern over the fact that even that Saudis are joining BRICS (an intergovernmental organization comprising of Brazil, Russia, India, China). Its worth noting here that the South African President, Cyril Ramaphosa, recently announced that Argentina, Egypt, Ethiopia, Iran, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates have all been invited to join BRICS (full membership is scheduled to take effect on 1 January 2024). According to Kennedy.. “those countries will control 90% of the oil in the world… and that would be cataclysmic for the US.”
In other words, in exchange for protection, Israel provides the US with military intelligence and the fire power it needs to ensure they continue to have access to oil reserves in the Middle East and around the World and, according to Kennedy, it doesn’t hurt that they also have a lucrative military technology exchange with Israel, where US weapons companies get 75% of that business. Clearly, stopping the slaughter of Palestinian babies, or the genocide being perpetrated on the people of Gaza, does not serve the interests of the US administration.
Incidentally, when asked why he chose to leave the Democrats and stand as an independent, he explains that the party suddenly started taking donations from big Pharma… “Democrats wouldn’t take pharmaceutical money and then when, in 2016, they were fighting, when President Obama was fighting over ObamaCare {2012 – 2016] the Obama administration had to make a deal with the pharmaceutical companies in order to get ObamaCare through… because Pharma is the biggest lobbyist on Capitol Hill and they could block it… they pay twice, in lobbying, what the next biggest, which is oil and gas, and about 5 times what the military contractors pay.” He explains that the deal was that they would approve ObamaCare providing the government agreed to buy their drugs without bargaining and, after that happened, the Democrats started to protect the Pharmaceutical companies and would dismiss any suggestion that vaccines had any side effects.
