Another Brexit lie exposed!
Days after the British government announced they’d managed to secure a trade deal with the EU we learned that they had sacrificed the UK fishing industry, after promising that the UK would ‘take back control’ of our fishing waters. Yesterday we discovered, after also repeatedly assuring British voters that the NHS was off the negotiation table for any future trade deals, that Tory ministers voted to put the NHS up for sale.
How many more Brexit lies will come out in the wash over the coming weeks and months, time will tell but protecting the NHS, unlike any other election promise, was integral to the Brexit and Tory election campaigns. In fact, not only did the Conservatives repeatedly hold the line on protecting the NHS, their most notorious campaign slogan, writ large on the side of the Brexit tour bus, proudly declared that they would divert £350 Million a week into funding the NHS.
If I bought a product that didn’t do what I was told it would do, I would have every legal right to return that product and demand a full refund. The fact is, we were sold a Brexit deal on false promises and outright lies and the Conservative party won the 2019 election on the back of those lies.
As the current Labour Party seem to be utterly toothless and offering zero opposition, perhaps we need to look elsewhere. I’m backing Jeremy Corbyn’s Peace & Justice project, probably the only people powered movement that could potentially rise to the legal challenge of ousting lying Conservative MPs and stopping the carnage that they are about to perpetrate on the NHS, not to mention UK fishing and farming industries.
