News on Palestine over the weekend…
1) Palestinian Chronicle reports that a young Palestinian boy was abducted and interrogated by undercover Israeli soldiers in East Jerusalem on Thursday. A video posted to Twitter shows plain clothes Israeli officers abducting 12yr old Moath Ewewi. Eye witnesses also reported watching them bundle Moath into an unmarked vehicle moments later and drive off. Moath, who was released later the same day, told a local news agency that he was also hit on the head by his abductors while inside the vehicle.
2) Turkish news agency reports Israeli forces kidnapped a 16yr old Palestinian girl near the village of Nazlet Zeid, on Saturday. She’s being held and interrogated at an Israeli detention centre inside the Ariel settlement. Rima al-Kilani is to be held for four days over what her family claim are a number of false claims against her. The same report also mentions the kidnapping of a 13yr old boy from his home on the same day. Zain Addin Issam was later released but his father was ordered to pay 5,000 shekels.
3) Wafa reports that 5 Palestinians were arrested following two separate late night raids by Israeli forces in the occupied West Bank districts of Hebron and Qalaqilia. Wafa explains that Palestinians live under the constant threat of being raided, arrested or summoned for questioning by the Israeli Military, with raids taking place on a daily basis now.
