Tory candidate for Leeds North East, suspended for alleged ‘anti-Semitism’ over remarks he made as a UKIP MEP during a debate on Gaza.
Amjad Bashir, told the European parliament that he’d personally witnessed young Jewish men who his grandchildren had lived alongside and grown up with, young men he refers to as “decent people, decent young men” but who he says had been brainwashed and turned into extremists after visiting Israel. Bashir concluded “there is something very peculiar and wrong going on in Israel”
