Ex-US Marine Corp Intel Officer, Scott Ritter, warns that the US are not really interested in negotiating with Iran.  In fact it’s just a ruse to buy some time while the US gets it’s ducks in a row for an all out attack. Their goal is regime change and they don’t care how many Iranians they kill or how many cities they destroy to achieve it… “I think it’s a 50:50 shot that we can suppress a lot of Iran’s ballistic missile capabilities,” says Ritter.

Ritter insists the US will have been monitoring Iran’s capabilities prior to this engagement and will have a prepared strategy, focused on taking down Iran’s missiles. He explains that Iran would need to deliver a sustained barrage of missiles in order to take out Tel Aviv or to be able to attack Saudi oil fields, but he ultimately see’s this as a no-win situation, as there will be casualties on both sides and real consequences for the rest of the world. US aggression on this scale will, in his view, also mark the end of the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty. Scott explains… “The only way Iran deters an attack is to state right up front what the cost of this war will be, instantaneously… they need to tell Azerbaijan ‘your done… all of your oil production fields will be eliminated on day one!’… Saudi Arabia, no oil production capacity at all, finished!… everybody… we’ll kill everybody… we’re not gonna sit by idly while you act passively in the face of an American-Israeli aggression against us… we dont want war, but if it comes, we’re burning the whole thing down, instantaneously, day one!”

Ritter advises Iran that they need to regain the upper hand and “put America on notice”. Tell them… “while these negotiations are underway you cannot be deploying military forces into the region… if you dont withdraw these forces we have to assume ill intent and we will carry out a pre-emptive strike.” They also need to suppress any involvement, even in a defensive capacity, by neighbouring countries like Jordon and Saudi Arabia, who have major US bases where US military power can be sourced. Ritter suggests putting the Jordanians and the Saudis on notice and letting them know, should they choose to get involved… “that regime change cuts two ways… [and that] the Hashemites kingdom… [and] the House of Saud… will not exist when this conflict is over!”

It seems Iran is already moving ahead with joint naval exercises in the Strait of Hormuz, with Russia, today (Thursday) and Reuters is reporting that Iran has issued a notice to airmen (NOTAM) letting them know that it plans rocket launches in areas across the south from 3.30 to 1330 GMT.

Ritter does however suggest that while the US have been planning and prepping for global war for a very long time (the only country in the world that does this apparently), war is very expensive and there are no guarantees of success. In his opinion, the US needs to consider the consequences if they fail.. “Can America afford to fail?” Ritter seems to suggest that the US government will have considered this possibility and that this could be why the US government recently decided to expand their nuclear capacity and resume testing nuclear weapons. He genuinely believes that the US will not fail a war with Iran because they can and will use nuclear weapons if they have to… “the danger of the concentration of power, without checks and balances… that’s what’s happening today”

Ritter also raises the point that there are very few nations able to stand up to US global military dominance and one of them, Russia, is currently already engaged in fighting an existential threat to its own survival. The only country that could stop the US from potentially taking out less powerful BRICS countries, like Brazil or South Africa, or their allies, would be China… “China should make it clear that an American attack against Iran would mean that there are no more limits on China’s approach toward Taiwan,” because what the US can’t do is fight two wars at the same time.

Ritter explains that the real objective here is to remove the only country (Iran) currently standing in the way of Israel’s plan for a greater Israel. They know that all the other countries in the region will capitulate if Iran is destroyed, and they even appear to be happy for some Israelis to die, or suffer loss and devastation, to achieve that goal. Ritter also believes that this is one man’s vanity project. He believes Netanyahu is an old man, failing in health, who’s doing this in order to preserve his legacy. He want to be seen as “the man who brought down Iran” when there’s also a very real possibility that he could well be remembered as “the man who destroyed Israel,” and, frankly, that might not be a bad thing in his view… “Israel is one of the most dangerous countries in the world, if not the most dangerous… because of its unconstrained ability to initiate violence, at will and without consequence. I’d like to see at least Iran make Israel pay some serious consequences for the violence this time.”

A major nuclear power, with no check or balances, attacking countries all around the world, with storm troopers on its streets attacking and killing its own citizens, and another murderous genocidal maniac in Israel who’s prepared to allow his own people die so that he can memorialise himself. Almost makes you want to advocate for regime change doesn’t it?
