Israel’s plans to annex parts of the West Bank have been put to action as Israeli bulldozers moved in earlier this week to demolish a number of Palestinian homes and displace 8 Palestinian families, including children.
On Monday, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced plans for annexing yet more West Bank territory. The work started the next day and, since Tuesday, they’ve already demolished a total of 15 residential and commercial buildings as well as dug up large swathes of surrounding farmland.
The program, backed by Donald Trump, aims to enshrine the occupied Jerusalem al-Quds as “Israel’s undivided capital” and gives Tel Aviv the go-ahead to annex settlements in the West Bank and the Jordan Valley. It also denies Palestinians refugees the right of return.
